Greetings from The Baffler. "The People's Republic of Zuckerstan," which just went live on our web site, is a new salvo from our current issue that criticizes the technology industry's "innovation economy" in Cambridge and Greater Boston--along the way taking in MIT, David Koch, and Aaron Swartz, as well as the corruption of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts and the shocking disappearance of our media.

The Innovation Economy in these parts has achieved a virtually unbreakable consensus among the powers that be. Gov. Deval Patrick, who just this morning signaled his interest in running for the presidency, is a primary sponsor and beneficiary. The Boston Globe will soon announce its intentions to turn itself into Techcrunch. The entire region is rapidly changing into a playground for corporate professionals.

This bubble must be popped. Your city is next.
