Hey all,

Two updates.

1. I've just posted an episode of my podcast, The Good Fight, that tells the story of how Aaron shaped Larry Lessig's work on money in politics. It was fairly wrenching to make but I think it came out well. If you have a chance to listen, I'd love any feedback.

2. Brian Knappenberger's documentary about Aaron, The Internet's Own Boy, is hitting theaters on June 27—and will be available for free online the same day, thanks to Brian's hard work to ensure that the film would carry a Creative Commons license. It's worth seeing—there's some amazing footage of Aaron as a kid.

Seeing the movie for the first time this week while working on the podcast has made me miss Aaron dearly. And that's led me to think about the people he gathered around him. I hope everyone's doing okay.

Warmly,

Ben

There's going to be a viewing of The Internet's Own Boy here at the BitTorrent offices early next week; if anybody in SF wants to come, I'll pass along time/date/etc as soon as they're finalized.

Ben,

The podcast was really well done, thank you for that.  And thank you (all) for your support of the money in politics
work that Aaron inspired Larry to do.  If you can support the MayDay.us final push these next two days, it would be
extremely great!  Here’s what I have been sending out to friends this morning (not pithy, but you can use any snippet
that works).

Thanks for considering,

Bettina

Dear friends,

As you well know, moneyed interests have in recent history held a lot more sway in DC than concerned citizens like us.  Here’s a really
easy, really quick, and really really important way to fight back against that fundamental misalignment! Without fundamental reform in
how elections are funded, progress on every issue you care about will continue to be undermined.
The July 4th crowdfunding deadline is fast approaching for my husband Lawrence Lessig's nonpartisan project to start taking money out of politics, one Congressional campaign at a time, with the MAYDAY Super PAC to end all Super PACs. Please check it out today and pass it on as widely as you can -- they are over halfway to their $5 million goal, but have only these two+ days left to close the gap!  If you've ever wished our laws, our government, our politicians and our elections were about substance rather than money, take a look! Then help it go viral.  Many thanks for considering.
Bettina
P.S. If you are willing to pass it on, here are some templates/language from Larry’s most recent missive to supporters you can use or adapt, as best suits:
We're in the final days of the campaign, and we need your help again.

At midnight, July 4, our drive will be over. If we haven't reached our $5 million target, we will have to begin to return the money that we have collected.

We're more than halfway there, and we've got some big events happening between now and Friday. But we urgently need another big push.

If you could share a message like this as soon as you can with as many as you can, it would be enormously helpful to our campaign.

Here's a template: please translate it into the language that fits you best:

"FRIDAY is the LAST DAY to give us a shot at winning our democracy back. Pledge NOW #MaydayPAC http://Mayday.US/pledge"

If you'd like to go a bit deeper, you can point people to our plan: http://Mayday.US/the-plan.

Thank you for what you've already done. And if you can pledge more, here's a handy link: http://mayday.us/pledge.

I've never done anything that's been this difficult. I guess that's appropriate, because I don't think anything could be as important. We need to get a representative democracy back. WE -- because the politicians are not going to do it on their own.

Thanks again.

Lessig
