Hi, since the slob file of english wikipedia is larger than 4gb I can't copy it to my micro sd card formatted with fat32. So I wanna know the best way to solve this. Do I have to format my micro sd card with ntfs? Is there any other way?
Thanks,
Jorge

Unfortunately my device doesn’t support exFat, so that solution isn’t going to work.  Is there any way to split the larger slob file up into smaller chunks?

Currently there is no way to split existing dictionaries. Content may be compiled into multiple smaller dictionaries, but this hasn't been done for English Wikipedia yet. In the meantime please complain in Android's issue tracker at https://code.google.com/p/android/issues
Either use and existing issue such as https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8111 or https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=63657 or feel free to create a new one.

Mine doesn't support exFat either. I'll have to wait till someone compile it into smaller dictionaries. :(

Or search for a smaller version which does have the most popular articles only. There are several versions available in this group here.

I added multi-volume English Wikipedia version: https://github.com/itkach/slob/wiki/Dictionaries#multi-volume
Make sure to update Aard 2 to 0.18 (should be soon in Play store or grab .apk at https://github.com/itkach/aard2-android/releases/ ), otherwise styles and math will only work in first volume.

How to create a multivolume dictionary? Is there a new switch in mwscrape2slob or do we use "split"?

This was created with new slob convert --split command, see https://github.com/itkach/slob

As you may know, https://github.com/itkach/slob is a reference implementation of slob format reader and writer and is used as a library by tools such as mwscrape2slob. But it also provides some basic command line utils to inspect and manipulate slob files.

It should also be possible to use mwscrape2slob to put content of a single CouchDB  into multiple dictionaries, using --startkey and --endkey parameters, but it doesn't have any way to control size at the moment, so you would have to guess which values to use for start and end keys.
