Hi there:
In 2013 AAP-USA convention in Chicago I asked a question to Yogendra Yadav that why was it so important to win Delhi in the upcoming November election. Mr. Yadav in his ever-eloquent style gave a very interesting answer, which was something like:
Launching a political party is like launching a satellite. To become a viable force a political party needs to have a very significant percent of vote share at the very beginning. So as while launching a rocket in order to achieve the escape velocity all the engines of the rocket needs to be on with full force, we also need to put all our force in Delhi to put AAP into the orbit of Indian politics.
Today I find there is a strange irony in the analogy he gave between launching a rocket and launching AAP. Mr. Yadav even with all his political wisdom probably did not consider an essential part of a rocket launching. When a rocket launches towards its orbit on the way in space it gradually sheds-off all the different engines and fuel tanks those initially helped it to achieve that escape velocity. Today I compare all these leaders, members, donors and volunteers as parts of those engines, who are shedded-off as AAP has placed itself in the orbit of Indian politics.
So its time for me to bid a farewell to all of you, all the brave and amazing faceless fellow AAPians many of whom I have never seen and most of whom I have interacted only online. Only time will tell if my money, all my sleepless nights spent in election campaigns, my pledge and my fight with so many non-AAPians are any worth of, but I am absolutely sure I have no more job left here.
Unlike me many of you are still firm believer in Arvind and the present form of AAP and I envy you as your dreams are not yet shattered and I sincerely hope let that never happen. However my dream journey is over as whoever was right or wrong in this whole episode I lost for sure. Just like those many pieces of a rocket that comes back to earth where it initially belonged to its time for me to go back where I was before 2011. I will try to have more time for me, for my family, for reading and writing, and doing things that are far away from politics. After all there is a big world to venture outside this little aspiration I had in last few years called the Aam Aadmi Party.
I wish all of you a great life that you all truly deserve. I’ll probably be still in touch with some of you through facebook and email, but its time for me to sign-off from the AAP movement.
Please take care of yours.
Kind regards and very best wishes,
Sujoy
