Hello DC Metro Area EMPs
Please forward this interested parties. There are two important
upcoming events. Remember to Like us on Facebook so that you can get
the most up to date announcements. Also, we are creating a DC EMP
Committee to help the Chair run the group and to foster its
expansion.

Wednesday, August 17
5:30 - 9:00 PM
Local 16 (1602 U Street NW)
Socialize and Network! HH Specials Include: $5 Specialty Cocktails,
$5 Drafts, $5 Rail Drinks, $5 House Wines, & $5 Pizzas.
U.S. Capitol & Visitors Center Tour
Friday, September 2
3:30 - 4:30 --- Important note: tour begins at 3:30 at the US Capitol
Visitors Center. You must be there by 3:00 at the latest, in order to
get through security. There is plenty to do in the Visitors Center if
you wish to arrive even earlier prior to the tour.
Tour of the U.S. Capitol lead by two of our own EMPs. There is a
limited number of spaces for this tour. If you can make the entire
proposed tour time, email dcmet...@gmail.com with the words Capitol
Tour in the subject line. The first 30 to respond will be on the
tour. There will be a waiting list as well. More details to follow.
DC EMP Committee - Call for Applicants
One Year Strong! After getting the group off the ground for the last
year, it's time to add Vice Chair roles to the group. These leaders
will assist the Chair (Stephanie Massaro) in keeping our members
engaged and making the group the best possible outlet for Museum
networking in the Washington, DC Metro Area. I hope that as we grow,
we can continue to have fun events that help you all gain valuable
contacts, learn from your Museum colleagues, and make new friends in
the process. The Chair and Vice Chairs will work together to form
the DC EMP Committee. We are look for 3 Vice Chairs: Communication,
Recruitment, and Events. More details of each Vice Chair position
and information on applying will be forthcoming in a separate email.
