JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Leadership and Advocacy Training Coordinator

SEARAC is seeking a part-time Leadership and Advocacy Training Coordinator (20 hours a week) to provide administrative, programmatic and logistical support for SEARAC’s leadership and advocacy trainings. The Coordinator will report directly to SEARAC’s Executive Director.  This part-time position is based in Washington, D.C.
 

Responsibilities

The Coordinator will work in collaboration with SEARAC’s policy staff to coordinate, plan, and implement the annual Leadership and Advocacy Training and other trainings that are implemented by SEARAC staff throughout the year.  Major responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating logistics (location, venue, transportation, materials, etc.) for the trainings
  • Developing outreach materials and conducting outreach and recruitment
  • Working with the policy team to review and process applications
  • Communicating with applicants throughout the application process, during the training, and after the training
  • Assisting with the recruitment of volunteers, speakers, and facilitators for the training
  • Conducting and compiling participants’ pre- and post- training surveys
  • Conducting evaluation of the training programs

Experience/Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience in managing logistics or events
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating trainings, conferences, or projects
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Strong computer skills and experience with databases
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with a team

Experience/Skills Preferred

  • Background in social justice or organizing work
  • Knowledge of issues impacting Southeast Asian American communities
  • Experience working with Southeast Asian American communities or communities of color
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations

Compensation

Commensurate with experience, plus a strong benefits package. This is a part-time position (20 hours a week).
