Carissim* queerist*,

It is that time of year again when we ask all our members to share their ideas about possible panels and roundtables for the upcoming AAIS in Columbus OH on 20-22 April 2017.

During our last conference members discussed pursuing more dialogues/panels about sex and sex acts, about queer activism and its intersections with academia, and about the clashes and overlaps between queer historicity and queer temporality in Italian studies. If you are interested in organizing a panel around any of these topics or would like to propose one that you have been thinking about please reach out to us. We are excited to announce our sponsorship of a roundtable being spearheaded by Sergio Rigoletto, as part of a series of panels about 'Italian Screen Studies: Methods and Priorities' with an emphasis on queerness.

As you know the Queer Studies Caucus, in keeping with our politics and mission, has moved from a vertical organizational structure to a horizontal one. As such the Organizing Committee of the QSC is asking all its members to step up their participation and consider what roles they can play in furthering our outreach and visibility. If you are interested in being on a panel, or in the QSC sponsoring one of your ideas, please reach out. The deadline for completed roundtables and sessions is just around the corner and we would like to take this time to ask that you use our community and resources to help create the panels you would like to see and engage with at the AAIS.

Please send all ideas (with or without full panels or participants) to AAISQueerSt...@gmail.com by October 15th so that we may submit our panels to the AAIS by November 30th.
