Hello VHPA Members:

 

We will hold a get-together on Saturday 7 March at 1000 at the AZ Wing of the  Commerative AF (CAF) beginning at 1000 hours. Please arrive by 0945. Come and join us at the CAF Helicopter event at their Museum at 2017 N Greenfield Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215, corner of Greenfield and McKellips.

 

Note that due to the cost, the AAHF-SW Chapter will cease selling helicopter rides in the Huey and Cobra this summer. This event may be your last opportunity to purchase a ride in either aircraft so book on-line soon.  The chapter will remain doing numerous static events with our many static helicopters. If a Huey or Cobra ride is on your bucket list, you need to buy a ride. Come early summer no more rides!  We are the only organization in the world where you can buy a Cobra ride.

Cobra ride is $800 unless you preregister then it is $775 and the Huey is $125  unless you preregister for $115. Preregister at armyav.org. Any issues contact me below or davesale64@gmail,com.

We will then plan on lunch at Pizzacatta in Mesa.

Should also note that CAP will do a pancake Breakfast at CAF from 0800 to 1000.

 

We at CAF have walkers, wheelchairs and some electric carts.  If some of you have these items and would like to donate let me know.

On another note, I keep telling my wife I am getting old and Cathy says no you aren’t, you are old!  Like some of us we have a “I love me room”. So who knows, might go south some day, say in the next 50 years. But when that happens what do you so with all that stuff? 

 

As many of you might know VHPA houses their historical data at Texas Tech University. They will also accept the stuff in our “love me rooms”.

As many of you might know I started the Attack Helicopter Association headquartered at Fort Rucker, AL. Lifetime membership is pretty high at $20.00. We have had three reunions: two in Savannah, GA,  HAAF and our third at Ft Walton Beach and  Fort Rucker, (Fort Novesel). There is an excellent chance we will hold our next one in Mesa, AZ. We have approx 120 current lifetime members and growing. Anyone, military or civilian, who had to do with arming, crewing, maintaining, developing and others are invited to join. Again $20.00 for a lifetime membership!
