Midnight Peace Vigil 14-15 August 2020

14-15 August (IST 00 Hrs to 01 Hrs, PST 23:30 Hrs to 00:30 Hrs) 

  

Aaghaz-e-Dosti , an Indo-Pak Friendship Initiative observes 'Joint Indo-Pak Independence Day' every year with series of programs and in the same, an annual Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace March, alongwith other like minded organisations was also started since last 2 years with inspiration of Late Sh. Kuldeep Nayar. Flagging off ceremony in India of this peace march was the last public appearance of Nayar sahab. 

As in this year, peace march and other programs cannot be held amid COVID19, friends of Aaghaz-e-Dosti decided to have a Midnight Peace Vigil on 14-15 August (IST 00 Hrs to 01 Hrs, PST 23:30 Hrs to 00:30 Hrs) by meeting on virtual platform zoom. 

This is a collective program with organisers like Aaghaz-e-Dosti, Tehrik-e-Niswan, Nirmala Deshpande Sansthan, Aman ki Asha, Womens' Initiative for Peace in South Asia and others. 

In the schedule programs, a talk by Raza Rumi (Renowned Pakistani journalist, Editor-Naya Daur, Author-Delhi by Heart) and Swati Parashar (Associate Professor in Peace and Development at School of Global Studies in Gothenburg University, Germany) would be held along with poetry and songs for India-Pakistan Peace by Indian and Pakistani students. 

We aim to build and strengthen people to people relations across all borders and barriers and for the larger goal of peacebuilding and creating an environment where people can understand the real importance and meaning of peace.
