On this August 14th and 15th, as our nations mark their Independence Days, we remember the courage, dreams, and sacrifices that brought freedom to our peoples.
While history gave us separate paths, we continue to share deep bonds — of language, culture, heritage, rivers, and above all, humanity. These ties are older than borders and stronger than differences.
Let this be a time not only to celebrate our independence but also to imagine a future of peace, dignity, and friendship for generations to come. May we honor our freedom by working to ensure that no child on either side of the border grows up in fear or mistrust, but instead in hope and mutual respect.
