ARTICLE: His killer said he is the ‘Father of Pakistan’ (DAWN)

We are sharing here an article written by Mr. Sudheendra Kulkarni and published in DAWN. This article was sent by Sudheendra ji as he believe that it may be of interest to peace loving people and groups and thus of all Aaghaz-e-Dosti supporters and e-mail subscribers. 

Sudheendra is a peace activist, writer and founder of Forum for a New South Asia. He has been a close aide to former PM of India , Late Sh Atal Bihari Vajpayi and has been involved in many confidence building measures between India-Pakistan. He has also been head of Observer Researcher Foundation, Mumbai. 

His killer said he is the ‘Father of Pakistan’  

Earlier, on 15 August 1947, when India was born as a free nation (Pakistan had come into existence the previous day), Gandhi was not in Delhi to participate in the celebrations. He was in Calcutta in a bid to extinguish the flames of deadly communal violence. His comrade in this successful endeavor was Muslim League leader Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, who later became Pakistan’s prime minister.
