The
Energy & Environment Specialty Group is excited to announce the opening of several leadership positions in our group! Please consider nominating yourself, each of which are for two-year terms, beginning on Thursday, March 27th. This is an excellent opportunity to build your professional network and get involved in meaningful work to advance scholarship and practice focused on just energy transitions. Here are the open positions (subject to change):
- Board of Advisor member (4 open positions)
- Graduate Representative/Outreach Coordinator (1 open position)
The Board of Advisors provide guidance to the Executive Committee, influence the direction of the group, assist with various initiatives as needed, assist with selection of award winners, support the Energy Geography Conference and the AAG Annual Meeting. We especially welcome the nominations of Board applicants from non-academic career tracks for diverse perspectives and expertise, though this is not required. The Graduate Reps/Outreach Coordinators manage our social media, update the website, organize the speaker series, assist with planning the Energy Geography conference and events for the AAG Annual Meeting. Postdocs also welcome to apply.
If interested, please email aag....@gmail.com with the following two items: 1) Brief statement (200-500 words) about your interest, fit and vision for the position; 2) CV/resume.In the subject line of the email, please write "2025 Nomination: *position*". We will review all nominations in early March and announce new leaders prior to the AAG Annual Meeting. If you are selected, it would be awesome if you would be able to attend the EESG Business Meeting at the AAG Annual Meeting in Detroit, where new leaders will be formally voted in and introduced to all members in attendance.
The deadline to submit nominations for each position is Sunday, March 2nd at 11:59pm ET.
Please contact me if you have any questions or would like additional clarification. Thank you for your consideration and support of our group!
