Hello all!
Here’s the latest Outreach Digest from the Energy and Environment Specialty Group (EESG). Please continue sharing things directly with the listserv and AAG Knowledge Community pages! This digest email is not meant to replace direct postings, and we’ll be pulling from those emails as we put together the digest.
You can also submit items directly by filling out this form or emailing Maddy Kroot (mkr...@clarku.edu).
You can also follow the Energy and Environment Specialty Group on our Bluesky account (@aag-eesg.bluesky.social) or on our website (https://www.eesg.org/home).
EESG NEWS:
· AI Survey: The leadership team of the EESG is seeking input from ALL members about AI (Artificial Intelligence). Please take 5-10 minutes and fill out this anonymous survey of our membership. The survey will be open until Friday, August 1st. Click here for the survey link.
· Bylaw Updates: Members of the EESG leadership team are proposing changes to our bylaws that include clarifications regarding nominations, terms of office instituting a "staggering" process, and roles of each leadership position which includes much more clarity on the role of the Board of Advisors. Our changes also reflect changes to our leadership structure (i.e. moving to a Co-Chair model of leadership and splitting the Treasurer/Secretary position into two separate positions). We have also included a Values Statement and Normative Commitments section that enshrine our core commitments to climate action and the JEDI principles in perpetuity, which also includes our pledge to not engage in extractive or exploitative forms of scholarship and practice. For your review, attached is the old version of the bylaws (ratified in 2024) along with the proposed edits to our bylaws (changes highlighted in yellow) that were approved by our leadership on July 18th, 2025. Voting will close on Sunday, August 10th. Click here to vote to approve or deny the bylaw changes.

What is this email?
The Energy and Environment Specialty Group sends out a digest email every two weeks with events or opportunities we think might be of interest to the specialty group. This email is not meant to be an exhaustive list or to replace regular messaging on the EESG listserv, but as a way to compile information and resources together in one place.
