Hello all,

The EESG is looking forward to seeing many of you (in-person and virtually) at the AAG in a week!

To help guide you, the EESG leadership team has made this handy flyer showcasing some of the EESG’s many organized and sponsored sessions! See the QR code in the top right corner for a full list, as well as more details, links to session descriptions, and links to speaker names, paper titles, and abstracts. You can also access the full list here.

A few things to be sure to put on your calendars:

Come learn from and be challenged by a group of energy justice activists based in the greater Detroit area, working to disrupt the socially, racially, and geographically uneven dispossessions and extractions of monopoly utilities, developers, and the fossil-fuel commitments of incumbents. Meeting in Room 412A (Level 4, Huntington Place). Description here.

THURSDAY, March 27

11:40 – 12:40pm Eastern

Energy & Environment Business Meeting. Come hear what we’ve been up to this year, brainstorm plans for the future, and get more involved with the EESG! All are welcome regardless of previous experience with the group. Meeting in Room 259 (Level 2, Huntington Place).

2:30 – 3:50pm and 4:10 – 5:30pm Eastern

Teaching Energy Geographies (two sessions). Join us in Room 259 (Level 2, Huntington Place) to discuss, share successes, commiserate on challenges, and innovate teaching strategies in energy geographies. Description here and here.

FRIDAY, MARCH 28

8:30 – 9:50am Eastern

Energy Futures and Directions Panel. Join us in Room 332 (Level 3, Huntington Place) for our annual Energy Futures and Directions Panel, in which Tony Reames (University of Michigan), Deepti Chatti (UC-San Diego), Jennifer Baka (Penn State), and Nikki Luke (University of Tennessee-Knoxville) will discuss novel directions in energy scholarship and praxis.
