We will have a new operator for the September Contest.

Alex KC4PHJ will be joining the group.

Alex has prior contest experience including operation from Whitetop.  He has VHF/UHF gear for 6/2/222/432/1296.

Thank you,
Roger W4MW

Good, because we may not have W3OA for September.  Turns out the MRI he had Saturday revealed a fracture in his Femur (high up in the head of the Femur.)  Surgery tomorrow to pin it. Don’t know how long this takes him out of circulation.

I’ll let everyone know when I get more information.

Roger & team,

Thank you for the warm welcome.  I look forward to meeting and operating with the team.

As Roger mentioned, I enjoy the world of VHF+ and contesting from high elevation on these bands. I have made numerous trips to Whitetop Mountain over the past 34 years and have even worked the AA4ZZ team from up there and also here at my home QTH in FM-05.

I am certain contest weekend this month will be a blast!

Roger, as a side note I noticed that I have access to read e-mails on the Google Group page but do not have access to post or reply to any messages. If possible, I would like to opportunity to e-mail back and forth with the group on topics.

Thank you,

Alex Macklin

Alex,
this is Bill W4GRW.

Welcome aboard!

If you accepted my invitation to the group, you should be fine.

I added you to the AA4ZZ Contest team group/email reflector and I just received your email.
So from here it looks like you are good to go.

Hi Bill,

Nice to meet you.  I did accept the invitation several days ago and have been able to read all of the message from the group.

However, if I open a message and want to reply, down at the bottom of the page where the options are Reply All, Reply to Author or Forward, the options are greyed out and when I hover my mouse over them it indicates that I do not have permission to post to the group, reply to the author or forward in this group.

Any tips on what I might be doing incorrectly would be appreciated as it may be an issue on my end.

Thank you,

Alex Macklin
