Hi all,

Happy New Year coming up!

Does anyone have plans to participate in the January VHF contest coming up in a few weeks?

Weather can be very challenging and unpredictable on the mountain in January, so I don't try to do a big effort.
I have attempted to get on in a casual way on 144, 222 and 432 from my station the past 3 years.
Two years I cut it short due to incoming winter storms.
Last year the driveway to the station was not passible due to snow so I did not get on.
We'll have to see what this year brings.

Hi Paul,

That makes perfect sense and I see where it could be difficult to try and plan anything substantial up there this time of year.

Schedule permitting, I will try and work some of the contest from home this year as I was able to get my 144 and 432 yagis back up recently and will have 50, 144, 432 SSB and FT-8 and FM on 222.

If you work the contest at all this year, I will do my best to give you some points from down here in the flatlands!
