Treetown - Captain's team! Saturday August 22nd

Greetings captains!

I’m happy to say that we are continuing the tradition of sending captains to the Treetown tournament (Lillie Fields, August 22nd). Just another way to say thank you for being a captain! No charge, just let me know if you want to play. Captains only, but any season counts, so please pass on to any captains from past seasons and past years that I may have missed.

See below for details on the tournament - this is a relatively low key fun event with several games over the course of the day and a wide range of skills represented. We’ve seen everything from club teams to rec league players. Mainly it’s an opportunity to play with you instead of against you for once. :-)

Based on past experience we’re usually limited by how many ladies we can get, so lady captains especially please join in! If we get enough, we’ll send 2 teams, but for an all day event I’m thinking we want at least six ladies and no more than 12 guys on the roster, yes? Let me know what you think size-wise, but we’ll do first come first serve. So if you’re interested, you may want to let me know sooner rather than later.

We are excited to announce that we are soliciting bids for the Ann Arbor Ultimate Treetown Tournament – THE YEAR OF THE PICKLE!! We would appreciate it if you could share this message with the ultimate community in your area!

The Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 11:00-5:00.

This is a 1 day mixed ultimate tournament held in Ann Arbor on the lush Lillie Park fields.  Mixed play is expected, requiring a 4/3 or 3/4 gender ratio with a minimum of 3 ladies on the field per point, so it is recommended that you bring at least 5-6 ladies on your team.  Each team will receive a jar of pickles for maximum energy during the tournament, with a giant pickle prize for the winners! There will also be typical tournament amenities including food and water.

Bids are $120.  Please email Aaron Fredenall at afred...@gmail.com to register your team!  Team registration will go through August 10th.  Non-club teams are encouraged to come up with pickle themed names!

If you are interested in playing but don’t have enough people for a team, email Aaron anyway and we will hook people up with teams who need subs, or combine groups of people into a new pick up team.
