Hi

I'm signed up and raring to go for the advanced course. Just wanted to
say sorry for not joining in as I had hoped to with this. I've been in
Crete, resting up a bit and also very busy with family over the summer
as I guess have many others. My e-mail address wil be changing shortly
because we're fed up with being thrown out by Virgin all the time so
I'll let you all have the new one when it has been set up. Hope you
are all well and look forward to new beginnings. Very kind of you to
list out all the contents, Liam, thanks.

Hi jane and all

Great that you are signed up to do the advanced course - I am also looking forward to it - only just managed to register in time and still waiting for my course materials to arrive. I assume we will be in the same group again - I have seen that Sarah will be my tutor again this year - you?

It will be great to start the course with some already familiar voices on the forum - can't wait to see you there!

Hi Jane,

Hope you're well. You lucky thing! I wish I'd been holiday this year :
(

I'm surprised you are taking on the advanced course - I thought you
were having a rest?!? I do feel envious though, my course is only a
ten pointer and it doesn't start until October 30th. I was going to
pull out of my course as things have not been that good at home
lately, but I just get that 'OU itch' and it won't go away.

Hi Lu,

You're so lucky - and brave - to do the advanced course. It would be
really nice if you and Jane were in the same group - I wish I was
enrolled too, but I'm spending my autumn with Shakespeare!

I miss our old forum, it was so lively. I know Liam has gone to a lot
of effort setting this up for us and feel guilty I have not taken part
more. I did write a picture book back in July called The Guinea Pig
Getaway, but I'm not sure if it's A215 material!

Hi all,

Have I responded correctly on this?!  I hope so!

I have also signed up for the advanced course, but Lu, I have a different tutor! What a shame we are not going to be in the same group. I have a male tutor this year. I have started ploughing through the coursework, just to try ang get ahead a bit, but it is definitely more heardcore than the A215! The guidelines say to allow 14 hours of study a week which i think is double what the A215 course was..gulp!
Jane, let me know what tutor you get assigned as dont really want to be the 'newbie' again on a new course!

Hope you are all well and its great to hear from you all :-)

Good luck with Shakespeare and everything at home and I hope it
settles...Thought it would be nice to finish off what I have started
and hopefully will have more luck this year in being able to
concentrate. Stay in touch if you want to - it would be lovely to hear
from you an will watch out for your book in Waterstones. Can picture
it already. Love the long haired ones.

Hi Lu

Lovely to hear from you. Yes, I have Sarah for my tutor again. I
signed up before I went away and used my holiday to recharge a bit but
haven't looked at my course materials yet until my middle daughter
goes back to university on Sunday and my eldest daughter has been
visited in London on Saturday (for her birthday and before she goes to
India and Africa). Youngest daughter went back to university in
Brighton, on Monday. I'm trying to sort out what will happen with my
job at the moment as my boss has been quite weird through the summer
but my Mother has stabilisied a lot, thank goodness. Husband still in
temporary work so this is ideal for me to tide me over. Did you have a
good summer? I hope so. At least we had a bit of sunshine this year.

Hi All

Jane - so great that we are on the same tutor group, but Jo! We will miss you! Do use this forum if you feel the need for feedback from people you already feel safe with - it's so daunting doing the whole on-line forum thing with unknown, faceless people. But it's great that you are both doing the course. And Emma - good luck with Shakespeare - it sounds lovely.

It's so nice to hear from everyone - I've really missed the forum actually - partly I guess because working from home, it's great to get the distraction! On which note, I should really do some work - but I'm looking forward to hearing about how everyone gets on - and hopefully to sharing and seeing some writing...

Keep in touch!

Hello everyone,

Good to hear we're all carrying on with our studies! I am registered
on the advanced, but have a completely different tutor to all of you I
think, another lady, but not Sarah.

As Lu suggests I think it would be really helpful if we could post our
work up here and get different feedback from our tutor groups. Also be
good to post any notes from tutorials people have.

I will need some suport! I am starting this course in October and
start the 60point Film & TV course in Feb. I've been working through
the advanced course all summer and have got up to week 10, plus have
done quite a bit of research towards the ECA. But this is only because
of needing to free up time for the Film & TV course. I'm halfway
through the first TMA now, next week I will try and adapt it.

If anyone has any questions about the first few weeks, I'd be happy to
help out.

Liam

Great to hear from you Liam! Sorry we are not all going to be in the same group (I wonder how they divide us all up??) but good to know that you are out there, writing! I think it would be great if we could feel that this forum provides an extra space for support and it would also be brilliant to meet up again just socially with some of the people from A215 who (perhaps wisely) have decided not to do 363 or whatever it's called.

Right - I'm off to chase up my course materials. DHL claim to have been round to my house every day for the last 2 weeks, but they haven't! Not once! I know - I've been here, waiting!

Take care, everyone

Lu x
