Tonight at Ann Arbor SPARK is Intro to Development on Apple's iOS Platform, Part 2.  For more info, and to register, visit this webpage: <http://www.meetup.com/MoMoa2/events/45525402/>

This Thursday is CocoaHeads Ann Arbor.  Starting at 6:30pm, we'll have free food sponsored by Arbormoon Software, Inc

Our main meeting will start at 7pm. Author and developer Chris Adamson is not big on testing. He's always been skeptical about getting user-interfaces meaningfully exposed to testing. But he admits that UI Automation may change his mind. This tool, added to Instruments in iOS 4 and greatly enhanced in iOS 5, allows you interact with your iOS application's interface via JavaScript, either in the simulator or on the device. You can record your interaction with the UI, tweak the script to turn it into a test, and save the result to run again later. In this demo, Chris will demonstrate how to start testing an iPhone app's touch interface with UI Automation.

Dave Koziol of Arbormoon Software, Inc, will also talk about iPhone Configuration Utility. A hidden gem for Ad Hoc build deployment.

If you are interested in talking about an iPhone or Mac OS X development topic, or showing your iPhone or Mac OS X project please contact Dave Koziol.

We're always looking for volunteers to talk at future meetings, so please consider volunteering.

Priya--

I'm going to be doing the UI Automation talk entirely via Xcode, so there won't be slides. The best resource that I know of to get a taste of it is Jonathan Penn's blog, specifically his one about UI Automation updates in iOS 5: http://cocoamanifest.net/articles/2011/11/changes-to-ui-automation-in-ios-5.html (this is also a good way to spoil my CocoaHeads talk, because it goes over the stuff I'll be showing off).  Jonathan will also be doing his UI Automation talk at CocoaConf in Chicago next week -- presumably the same one he did at CodeMash that turned me on to UI Automation -- so if you're going to that conference, definitely check out his talk there.
