Prophetic Sunnah: Wash your hands before and after meals

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "He who goes to sleep with his hands smelling of grease and suffers something evil in consequence shall have no one but himself to blame" [Ibn Majah]

Here the Prophet (pbuh) is reminding us to stay clean. It is a sunnah to wash our hands before and after eating [related in an-Nisa'i], yet some of us may get lazy sometimes. Thus we should ensure that we keep ourselves clean by following this sunnah, and especially avoid sleeping with dirty hands.
