Proposed Rule 11 - Active players will take turns, one at a time, in alphabetical order by user name/nickname.  On a player's turn, they must propose a new rule, propose an amendment or edit to an existing official rule, or propose to nullify an existing official rule.  The proposal will then be voted upon by all active players.  The decision will be announced within the proposal topic when A) all active players have voted or B) 48 hours have passed.  The next player in alphabetical order will then be allowed to make their proposal.  The current player will be indicated by having their name bolded in the player list.

I know we're just starting, but I think we should get into a rhythm so that we can know what is currently being voted on and when it is an appropriate time to propose a change.  At the moment there seem to be multiple rules and changes being proposed and all are simultaneously being voted on.  The 1 at a time rule will also, in theory, prevent conflicting rules being voted on or proposed at the same time.

I understand what you're going for. I'm just not sure it's efficient enough. My concern is having to wait for a turn. In addition, I don't know that anyone has the ability to edit the player list besides  Serengaeth.

I'm in agreement here, I don't think this is sufficient, and I also don't want to descend into turn-taking. I'm considering how we can set up a more flexible player-list, ect. but at the moment I'm happy to leave things ad-hoc.

While that's said, I do think that there should be some process regarding rules being passed/not passed in the order that they were first posted. Any ideas on how that might work?

We posters able to change the subject line after a vote has been decided?  Also, how often are the official rules planned to be updated with passed new rules and edits?

I will be able to do it every day, except for a week next month when I'm in West Virginia on a camp site!

Posts can't be edited in any way, excepting changing tags, after they're sent.

Yeah it's tough because you can't edit the original post to update wordings and such.  I would like to see the original poster be able to reword after discussions and then call for a vote.  This system we have here has the potential to get messy as rule propositions are posted and reposted, or other suggested alterations of the proposal are included in the comments rather.  This could lead to proposals needing to be posted multiple times and things getting lost in the shuffle.

The original poster should take ownership of the proposal and have control over when they are satisfied with their wording, and want to see if it passes or fails.  While there should be room for healthy debate, the author should be able to call it and see what happens.  For instance, my first proposal,  got some input but no votes.  Are people waiting to vote because I may do a reworking?  Dunno.

I think we should continue to discuss the idea of a rule dictating points here, and then you can go ahead and post it as a proposal again afterwards. Of course, you're more than welcome to construct a proposal based on the suggestions, and your own ideas. I hope some variation of this can go through, as I really like this proposal it just needs a little cleaning up.

I personally was waiting to see if folks felt the same as I did regarding this particular proposal, willing to make my opinion based on the discussion, not necessarily a re-working.

At this point I am willing to VOTE: NO
