Electronic chip maker company STMicroelectronics announced that the OpenWorld Design Contest, which aims to promote the development of technologies for human-assistance applications.

A total of $20,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to participants with the most innovative and useful electronic pplications designed to assist people with any variety of disabilities or medical conditions.

Entrants can register on the contest site, www.stm32circle.com, and submit their concept.
