to A Raisin in the Sun
I believe Walter has caused his own situation. He believes that
everybody owes him something when really its his own fault that he is
in this mess. He only does this so that if he fails, he does not think
that it is his fault, its everybody else fault. It makes him feel
better about himself knowing that he didn't fail, his family made him
fail. Also, he doesn't appreciate his family enough and doesn't heed
their words of doubtfulness. In this day and age, it is not realistic
for him to open a liquor store and expect it to be successful because
anything could happen to it during the 1950's.
