Good Friday Morning
precious Family of God:
Are you all ready for the
weekend?
 We are, and so very ready,Hubby had a real tough week
at work. They were short help
so that was hard on everyone.
No we are ready for the
weekend, time to rest,
and pray and watch a little Hallmark
movies, and the Pro Bowl
AFC/NFC.

Read Matthew 11:25-30
Jesus said, "I praise you, Father,
Lord of heaven and earth, because you
have hidden these things from the wise
and learned, and revealed them to little children."
-Matthew 11:25 (NIV)
MY daughter is learning to walk, and I am learning to play guitar. The other day, I watched as she slowly straightened her knees and tentatively slid one foot forward. She flashed me a big, four-toothed smile and then toppled over. Undeterred, she pulled herself up and tried again.
That same day, I noticed that my approach to learning guitar was much different than my daughter's toward walking. I strained to force my fingers into position. My hands cramped, my whole body tensed, and I became frustrated. My guitar teacher said to relax and enjoy playing, that my fingers would loosen up with time.
As with my attempts with the guitar, trying to force my way along the path to spiritual growth can be counterproductive. Jesus said his yoke is easy and his burden light. I can gain much in my walk with God by approaching it more as my daughter approaches learning to walk: one step at a time; working at it day by day; and delighting in little signs of progress along the way.

Dear God, help us come to you with
the faith of little children, trusting
that you will lead us along paths
of righteousness and teach
us new truth day by day. Amen.
