Title: Users and admins may be unable to access SharePoint Online or the SharePoint Online admin center

User impact: Users and admins may have been unable to access SharePoint Online or the SharePoint Online admin center.

Final status: We've identified that a recent authentication change was deployed before the service was prepared for it, resulting in authentication failures that prevented users and admins from accessing SharePoint Online and the SharePoint Online admin center. We've disabled this change and confirmed using our internal monitoring telemetry, along with reports from affected users, that impact is remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user or admin that attempted to access SharePoint Online or the SharePoint Online admin center may have been impacted.

Start time: Friday, May 9, 2025, at 6:33 PM UTC

End time: Friday, May 9, 2025, at 9:11 PM UTC
