Title: Users may be unable to access Microsoft 365 services in New Zealand
User impact: Users may have been unable to access Microsoft 365 services in New Zealand.
More info: We received reports of issues impacting various Microsoft 365 service including but not limited to Exchange Online, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, within New Zealand.
Final status: We’ve confirmed with previously affected customers and through our internal telemetry that service has fully recovered for Microsoft 365 services in New Zealand.
Scope of impact: Users located in New Zealand may have been unable to access various Microsoft 365 services.
Start time: Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 8:15 PM UTC
End time: Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 11:45 PM UTC
Preliminary Root cause: A New Zealand peer was experiencing intermittent connectivity issues, resulting in an increase in connectivity issues and subsequent Microsoft 365 service failures.
Next steps:
- We’re analyzing what caused our networking peer to become degraded so we can
prevent similar issues from happening again in the future.
A post-incident report will be available on the Service Health Dashboard within five business days.
