Title: Some users may be unable to join or create Microsoft Teams meetings or calls

User impact: Users may have been unable to join or create Microsoft Teams meetings or calls.

More info: According to our impact analysis, the following scenarios were among those most impacted:

-Transcriptions

-1:1 Calling

-Group calling

-Meeting join

-Meeting scheduling and creation

-Public switched telephone network (PSTN) calls

Final status: After a recursive analysis of additional metrics, we've observed persistent recovery across all previously affected scenarios. Closer analysis identified a recent change associated with our ongoing service resilience efforts which overloaded our traffic management processes and caused impact. The service is now restored; however, users whose calls and meetings were previously affected may need to end and restart those calls and meetings to see full recovery.

Scope of impact: Any Microsoft Teams users in the Asia-Pacific region may have been impacted when attempting to create or join meetings or calls.

Start time: Friday, July 24, 2026, at 12:25 AM UTC

End time: Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:27 AM UTC

Preliminary root cause: A recent change associated with our ongoing service resilience efforts overloaded our traffic management processes and caused impact.

Next steps:

- We're conducting an analysis of the recent service configuration change to gain additional clarity into the root cause and identify any further measures we can enact to enhance infrastructure safeguards and avoid the recurrence of this issue.

We'll provide a preliminary Post-Incident Report within two business days and a final Post-Incident Report within five business days.
