Title: Users in Australia may experience issues accessing Microsoft services including Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365

User impact: Users in Australia may have experienced issues when accessing various Microsoft 365 services.

More info: Users may have experienced issues when attempting to access various Microsoft 365 services including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Exchange Online services.

Final status: We’ve taken proactive action to reroute all traffic to prevent recurrence of this issue while we address the networking issue contributing to the problem. We monitored the service for an extended period and confirmed that the service was stable and the issue resolved.

Scope of impact: Any users served through the Australia region may have been affected by this issue if they attempted to access Microsoft services including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint and OneDrive.

Start time: Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 2:48 AM UTC

End time: Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 2:57 AM UTC

Preliminary root cause: A portion of our networking infrastructure became degraded and subsequently unreachable which resulted in Microsoft services being inaccessible.

Next steps:

- We’re analyzing what caused our networking infrastructure to delay failover response times and focus on monitoring to more quickly identify and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.

We’ll provide a preliminary Post-Incident Report within two business days and a final Post-Incident Report within five business days.
