User impact: Users' Microsoft Teams meetings were incorrectly displayed in English.
More info: Affected Microsoft Teams meetings created between the impact timeframe of Friday, December 13, 2024, at 12:00 AM UTC to Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:53 PM UTC will need to be recreated.
Current status: The deployment of the fix has completed, and we've confirmed through internal testing that new Microsoft Teams meetings are now displaying in the expected language. Any affected meeting created during the impact timeframe of Friday, December 13, 2024, at 12:00 AM UTC to Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:53 PM UTC will need to be recreated.
Scope of impact: This issue affected users who's default language is set to a non-English selection and was expecting scheduled Microsoft Teams meetings to be in their default language.

End time: Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:53 PM UTC
Root cause: A recent service update introduced a code regression, which was resulting in the Microsoft Teams service not honoring default language settings for Microsoft Teams meetings.
Next steps:
- We're further analyzing what within the service update caused the impact to occur and why it wasn't detected prior to being deployed.
We'll provide a preliminary Post-Incident Report within two business days and a final Post-Incident Report within five business days.
