Title: Some users may experience issues when utilizing specific Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365) intelligence features
User impact: Users may have experienced issues when utilizing specific Microsoft Copilot intelligence features.
More info: The known Copilot impact scenarios and features within Microsoft 365 services such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online, ClipChamp, and Microsoft Stream are listed below:
Impacted Copilot intelligence features:
- Copilot features within Microsoft 365 apps may have returned delayed responses, timeout errors, or no results
- Text prediction or Copilot summaries within Microsoft 365 services were delayed, returned no results, or returned timeout errors.
- Text prediction or ContextIQ queries were delayed, returned no results, or returned timeout errors.
- Sensitivity auto-labelling may not have been applied as expected.
Final status: We've isolated that a recent configuration change which was intended to optimize performance resulted in impact to Augmentation Loop, which caused users of Copilot features within Microsoft 365 apps to experience issues or delays as outlined in the "More info" section of this communication. We've rolled back the offending configuration change and validated this resolved the majority of the reported impact scenarios by Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 2:40 PM UTC. We completed an internal monitoring period to monitor and validate full remediation, which completed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 4:45 PM UTC, and allowed us to confirm that our rollback successfully remediated user impact.
Scope of impact: Some users may have experienced issues or delays when utilizing specific Microsoft Copilot intelligence features such as text prediction, Copilot summaries, or sensitivity auto-labelling.
