I am blessed and humbled to be celebrating the release of creative work in two mediums this weekend. Friday is a reading at Bayanihan Community Center in SF for the brave new anthology Walang Hiya...Literature Taking Risks Toward Liberatory Practice in which I was recently published. Coming off a life-changing (no exaggeration) week-long intensive writing workshop with master poet & teacher Suheir Hammad and a handful of serious peers I am extremely excited to be back in my writing element after a hiatus of a few years.
Sunday the good brothers DJ Mpenzi and jsight are hosting the release of my latest cd, The Cee-Lo Green Mix at their excellent MÄJOR Sundays night at Somar Bar in Oakland. The first 50 folks get a free copy which features fly original watercolor artwork by Jidan Koon and 80mins/44 tracks of Green magic from the catalogs of Goodie MOb, OutKast, Dungeon Family, Gnarls Barkley and Cee-Lo's extensive genre-defying solo and collaborative work.
Sandwiched in between is GOLDEN on Saturday, me & DJ Zita's monthly anything-goes musical get-down!
**And guess what, all these events are FREE!! The only thing better than celebrating is sharing it with fam so come thru if you can.
