//It's about that time for the Valentine's barrage. All the cheesy marketing aside, why not take time to celebrate love? Why not do it every day?

 

//Tonight to warm it up for this weekend, your Golden Soundscapes DJs Zita & Dmadness will be dropping a special Valentine's Warm-Up set at Mixtape Wednesdays, the long-running place to be in the Mission on hump day.

 

//Part of the annual barrage also includes a gang of love-themed mixes from djs all over the map. All good I say, if every dj put out a mix dedicated to love that would be a powerful statement. Might change the world. I'm coming out with my 3rd V-Day mix (LoversRockTunes 2006, loveisloveisloveislove 2007), and it has been in the works for a loooong time. It is an epic 80-min, 62-track selection of the best loversrock reggae tunes entitled ExtraLoving. Gotta give a shout to Jidan Koon who created a hand-sculpted collage for the exquisite cover artwork. Check the blog later this week for more detailed liner notes on the mix.

 

My CD release party will be this Friday at 1LOVE 2nd Fridays at Poleng Lounge, so come to catch me, Pam the Funkstress, Green B and free copies of my mix. Proceeds from the door go toward a group of 11 USF students whose residence burned down a couple weeks ago.
