Dear all,
First of all, I would want to thank everyone who
has motivated me to study in BMC.
Now, I guess it is the right time to disclose my
history.
As some of you know, I did not complete my O Level.
Shocked? Let me tell you one more shocking news. I did not even complete my
secondary school education.
Perhaps, by now, you would look at me at a
different angle. In the past, I had a very terrible childhood. I was a gangster
and did not have a single interest for studies. I went astrayed and was caught
by police for selling illegal VCD. My future was smeared with dirt.
Following it, I went to enroll myself in a college.
As my fundamentals were weak, I couldn't accomplish much. After that, I was
enlisted into the army. I experienced one very terrible ordeal that
had led to a wake-up call. First, I met with a life-or-death situation in
Taiwan. Training in Taiwan was very tough and, particularly, one of our
instructors were a ranger. It was truly mad. For all these, it has remained the
reason why I'm inspired to pursue my general education.
Two years back, I started my O Level education
(while in the army) at a private school. My foundation wasn't strong and I had
to struggle through all uncertainties. I managed to pass all the subjects and
were entitled to a polytechnic course. With a clear and certain mind, I decided
to pursue my A levels in BMC. Now, I have passed all the subjects and have been
called up for interviews.
Overall, my life is a stormy one. I clearly
sympathize and understand students who felt indifference towards
studies.
I knew I need to encourage and motivate fellow
classmates in BMC to study hard and smart. Given my history, I'm responsible to
prevent my classmates from following my footsteps: at the end of the day, we'll
regret for what we have done.
I felt satisfied for everything in my life. BMC is
my first JC and I have finally sensed and felt the position as a JC student.
Although I'm a private student, each and everyone of you have gave me a JC in my
heart.
Therefore, dear fellow ex-classmates, do not regret
in your life. Every mistakes is a learning opportunity. It is a step towards
gaining wisdom. Ultimately, you can share with your friends your story just like
me. A very big thanks to everyone especially Mr Koh and Hansen who have
motivated me to work hard.
Your unworthy pillar of inspiration,
Daniel
