Dear Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir,
Here we are already in the Holiday Season for our performances! This means that we have a lot going on to get us ready for all the big and beautiful performance moments. Please take a careful look at the Notes and Reminders for this week.
· Tomorrow is an extra Choir T-Shirt Day! Please wear your choir t-shirt to rehearsal tomorrow. Michael Hemphill, from the local PBS show, Buzz 4 Good, is going to video segments of the rehearsal and interview some students and then make a short publicity video for us to share on social media, play at the concerts, and have on our website. Choir t-shirts and jeans tomorrow please!
· It’s Concert Poster Time! All choristers will receive 1 concert poster and 2 concert postcards at rehearsal tomorrow. The concert poster needs to be put up right away! School, work, church, library, coffee shop, after school programs, day care, small businesses, big businesses, health clinics…..please find a great spot where LOTS of people will see the poster!! All posters need to be put up this week please!
· Joke tryouts are tomorrow during rehearsal. All choristers who signed up to try out for a Holiday Joke or Holiday Fun Fact should be well prepared.
· A B B+ registration for the School Tour. Have you registered? This is a required performance for all A B B+ members. The registration has been re-opened. · Costume Check for the A B B+ is on December 9. (previously scheduled for December 2 but moved to December 9 to give time for alterations since the costume order delivery date has been delayed by several weeks.) Please wear your full formal costume to rehearsal on that day.
· Costume Check for the C choir is on December 2. Please wear your full formal costume to rehearsal on that day.
· The 8th annual Community Carol Sing-A-Long is on December 7!! The informational handout is attached. Quick note: all choristers wear their choir t-shirt, jeans, along with a holiday hat or scarf to look festive and fun!
Concert Tickets for your school teacher or music teacher: We are offering 2 complimentary tickets to your favorite school or music teacher. All RVCC choristers are welcome to invite a favorite school or music teacher to the concert. This would be a good person to give one of the Concert Postcards with all of the concert information on it. (You’ll receive 2 postcards tomorrow for inviting people to the concert). If your teacher confirms that they would like to attend the concert, find out which concert they prefer. (1:30 or 4:00) After your teacher has confirmed that they would like to attend the concert with 2 complimentary tickets, email me with the choristers name, teacher’s name and school and the preferred concert time. We will then send tickets home with that student at the next rehearsal to give to their teacher.
