Misery - Audition Notice

Based on Stephen King's spine-chilling thriller, Simon Moore brings
this classic to life for the stage. When best-selling writer Paul
Sheldon has a car accident in the midst of a blizzard while writing in
the Colorado mountains, he is rescued by Annie Wilkes, his self-
proclaimed "Number One Fan." While holding him a virtual hostage, she
discovers his newly completed manuscript is not a Misery novel, and
forces him with her sadistic nursing machinations to rewrite his new
presumed-bestseller. Filled with pain, degradation, humiliation, and
utter fear, this play is sure to keep you writhing in your seat
through to the end!

Auditions to be held at South City Theatre on August 18 from 1:00-5:00
PM. Both roles of Annie Wilkes (female, approximately early- to mid-
thirties) & Paul Sheldon (male, approximately early- to mid-forties)
are open (ages are relatively flexible). This play is directed by Tim
Calhoun. If you've never worked with the director, please prepare a 60-
second monologue. All other candidates will read from the script.
Rehearsals will be held Tuesday & Wednesday nights, 6:30-9:00 and
Saturdays 1:00-4:00, though this is somewhat flexible due to the cast
size.

Show dates are October 4-14 & October 25-26. Thursday-Saturday at 8PM;
Sunday matinees at 2PM, all at South City Theatre. Additional
performances will be held at the Homewood Public Library October 19-20
and the North Shelby Library October 27. Actors will receive a small
stipend for the traveling shows. For more information, call the
theatre at 621-2128 and your message will be forwarded to the director.
