I agree, this is a very good list. However I think there is still too
much emphasis on "whole grains". I disagree with the phrase "Whole
grains are a powerhouse of antiaging nutrients."
Yesterday I was helping Daniel with his cooking class homework. They
are of course teaching the kids in school our government
recommendations. I strongly disagree with where they tell the kids
that "at least half of your grains should be from whole grains". In
my opinion *all* of your grains should be whole grains (none should be
refined grains). It is good to see the recommendations for grain
intake dropping but I still think they recommend too much grain
intake.
I also recently saw some discussion (National Geographic) on the
discovery of a new humanoid fossil in Africa and that some scientists
are trying to correct the misconception that humans evolved as meat
eaters when the evidence is that humans were vegetarians.
