I thought this article was a good overview of efforts for the fight
against cancer. I especially liked one of the concluding remarks:
"But the incidence of cancer is tied to lifestyles, placing the onus
on prevention efforts."
This statement is WAY better than what we typically hear on the news:
"Nobody really knows what causes cancer and we still haven't found a
cure"
Unfortunately, the media leads people to believe the exact opposite -
that there is no way to prevent it. My guess is the latter phrase has
become popular because nobody wants to risk offending someone with
cancer by telling them they are partially responsible for the
predicament they are in. People are dying left and right but at least
we aren't offending anyone. :o(
