Hi everybody,

I just found this 30 min interview with Dr. Al Sears (the same guy we
were talking about last year who recommends shorter workouts). The
reason I'm sending this out is it answers a lot of questions that
people have asked after reading his article such as "is walking ok?".
The interview also does a good job of explaining some things that the
article did not. For example, his article focused on the detrimental
(long term) affects of marathon running but didn't explain if 5K, 10K,
or even half marathons have the same problems. He explains in his
interview some shocking results from a 16 week follow up study
involving twins where one twin followed his PACE program and the other
twin did a heavy cardio workout. At the end he also explains how his
PACE program is different from traditional interval workouts (oops - I
was doing this wrong).

Jen, in case you don't have 30 minutes to listen to this interview Dr.
Sears specifically said that walking (even several hours a day) is
good for you.

Sara, I'd really be interested in your opinion on this interview too.
If any of your fellow trainers (especially people that are teaching
you) are willing to listen to this interview, I'd love to get their
take on this. Just tell them "a client of mine wants to get my opinion
on this PACE program and I wasn't sure what to say." :o)

Starting next week, I'm adjusting my workout to match the PACE program
and I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.

Thanks,
-Tom
