One may think of oneself as 'earth-ship me', inside something (one's
body) & looking out.
In command is the pilot, s/he decides what one's gunna do. (Free will?)
One's 2IC is the observer, who watches everything that happens.
Sitting between both is the "Hmmm" box, s/he asks 'Why?'

All wo/men are created equal, or so the saying goes.
But prol'aby all newly created persons are corrupted, sooner rather
than later - often by an own parent, when that parent tells the phirst
(recognisable) lie.
"Hmmm..."
This makes the learning of society's rules more difficult than it has
to be, having to handle hypocrisy. An' all that for a toddler!
Nevertheless, most do learn: no lies, no theft, no thuggery/violence
and certainly, no killing.

Skip forward to the 'here & now': Bush, Blair & Howard (B, B & H) and
murder for oil.
My suggestion (hardly mine alone) is, that these 3 deliberately set out
to lie to us, in order to steal (control over) Iraqi oil.
And hardly contentious, one might think.
But an equal if not worse problem, is the support B, B & H get from the
press/media. Corrupt parts of the press/media not only pass the
politicians' lies on, but cheer whilst doing so - and some in the
press/media even offer their own lies in support, all this being
counter to the correct function of the 4th estate, which is to inform
us, we the people, citizens in a democracy. Without this correct
information, no democracy can possibly work.
This observer's micro-examination of the US/Anglo world initiated by
the threats of "Shock & Awe" in the lead-up to the illegal invasion of
Iraq has revealed some more (& worse) news:
1. The US/Anglo-sphere is involved in 'sharp practices' (to deploy
understatement), in that they are ripping-off resources without
adequate recompense.
2. The Global War on Terror (GWoT) is aggravating terrorism, rather
than 'combating' it; with the result that we, the people are being
mortally endangered.
Proof of (1) is offered by John Perkins' "Confessions of an Economic
Hit Man" and of (2) by Robert A. Pape's "Dying to Win".
The crimes of B, B & H, not just bad enough on their own, are diverting
attention from the worst problem facing us: the greenhouse.
Any suggested 'better way' would presumably mean outside the current
system, since the current oppositions to B, B & H offer only more of
the same, something we just do not need.
Discussion is opened.
