办公用软件推荐

说到办公用软件推荐，人们自然想到Microsoft Office。估计大家都知道，也会用。2007年版的升级，让人觉得有点晕，找不到北。“回车”加两空行，更让人烦。。那还有哪些办公用软件可用呢？   上回提到Open Office that is free and open source. 估计也有不少人已经在用。但我用的不多。That is why I could not answer the questions last time. Sorry about that.   我现在用的较多的是Google Document that is free too. It is online application and you do not need to install any software on your PC. All you need is web broswer and gmail account. After login to your gmail account, click "Documents" link at top left. Then click "New" pull down menu to select what type of files that you want to create. File types are similar as WORD, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT. Or you can upload files too.   Google主要是针对中小企业开发这办公软件的。我的感觉也是非常适合各位同学。在座各位有的已是海龟，有的将做海龟，还有的会做海鸥，在来回travel时，带文件是一个问题，就算有U盘，还担心忘了哪个文件。Google Documents save all files online. So you do not need to bring anything. You can access your file from anywhere around world, China or USA.   The second advantage is document share. 产生一个文件后可以几个人分享，权限可分为共同编辑，只看不能改等。我的项目书就是放在网上，几个人共同完成的。这比email来email去要方便多了。   The third advantage is version control. Google 保留了所有你修改的版本。你可比较过去所有的记录。文件产生人对文件有绝对的控制权，分享人不能删除文件。   The fouth advantage is real time update/save. 你每打一字，软件自动存盘。两人可同时编辑，对方打的字同时会自动显示在你的荧屏上。   Something that you need to pay attention. - To share the document, everybody should have gmail account. - Do not set the file as public. Or the file will be indexed into search engine and viewed by public   Disadvantages: - Do not have fancy features as MS Office.   Today's News, Google is developing Operating System and will release it next year for free. Google is a big threat to Microsoft now. Where does Google money come from? Ads. I use Google ads for my online business. I like Google doc. too. But I'm just a beginer. I do have a serious question/concern. How's about the security?

Jing,   I have been using Google documents for several years and see the improvement continuously. For this kind online application, the major concerns are stability, disaster recovery, and security. In my experiences, stability and disaster recovery seem very good since I did not see Google Doc is inaccessible or any file get lost so far. For security, I only can say it is acceptable since I have no way to evaluate it. Google is search engine company. Its goal is to index everything on internet to its database. If you do not set the file as public, Google should not index your file to its index.
