Dear SAPA Members and friends,

 

The “International Symposium on Industrial Pharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacology 2009” will be held on October 10-11, 2009 at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou and co-sponsored by SAPA. You are cordially invited to apply for the speaking opportunities at this symposium.

 

The application form is attached and the deadline for submitting your applications is Sept 2, 2009.  Please indicate in the form which session you apply for and send your application to SAPAr...@yahoo.com . All applications will be reviewed by the SAPA Review Committee and the selected applications will be recommended to the symposium organizer for the final decision.  The organizer will provide free accommodation to speakers during the symposium in Guangzhou, plus partial travel coverage ($500) if speaker companies / universities do not cover the travel expense.

 

Session I -- Clinical Pharmacology

♦ Research and development of novel drugs and drug targets in major diseases: cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and psychiatric diseases.

♦ Advances in the R&D of natural products and novel biopharmaceuticals

♦ Advances in the evaluation of drug-drug interactions

♦ Advances in the evaluation of drug-nutrition interactions

♦ Pharmacogenomics, pharmacogenetics and pharmacoeconomics

♦ International multicenter research trials

 

Session II -- Industrial Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology

♦ Innovations and current trends in drug delivery technology

♦ Applications of new natural materials and synthetic polymeric materials in pharmaceuticals

♦ Current trends and advances in bio-tech

♦ New technologies and equipment in pharmaceutical manufacturing

♦ Development and modernization of the Traditional Chinese Medicine

 

Session III -- Globalization and Local Initiatives in Pharmaceutical and Biopharma Development

♦ Overview of Chinese Government and Industry Sector Initiatives

♦ The Pharmaceutical R&D Model in China

♦ Intellectual Property Issues in Partnering/Licensing

♦ International Challenges and Opportunities for Traditional Chinese Medicine
