2011 WSF: call for volunteers
The Organizing Committee of the 2011 World Social Forum, to be held on
February 06-11, in Dakar (Senegal) is making a call for people who
wish to volunteer at the event. Beyong Senegal, people from
neighboring countries (Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali,
Mauritania), but groups from Europe, Americas, Asia etc are also
expected. It will be given priority to those who are interested in
volunteering and speak French and English fluently. For those who do
not live in Dakar, the Committee cannot cover any travel or
accommodation expenses. Read more
Zambia National Social Forum
On November 26th it will be held the 5th edition of the Zambia Social
Forum (ZAMSOF). Under the theme Southern Africa people’s Action
against, Social, Economic and Political Crises and Oppression, the
event is a build up to the Southern Africa Social Forum (2011) and the
World Social Forum, to be held in Dakar, Senegal, on February
06th-11th 2011. Read more
African Forum on Cultural Rights
Marching towards Dakar. The African Forum on Cultural Rights, to be
held on November 28th 2010, at the Fabrique Culturelle des Abattoirs,
in Casablanca (Morocco) is one of the several thematic preparatory
forums that are taking place prior to the WSF (Dakar, Senegal,
February 06-11 2011). It aims to provide an open arena for debate on
cultural issues, such as the inalienability of human rights, the rola
of culture in development and the cultural politics of Morocco and

Pan-Amazon Social Forum: program
Coming as result from several process started at the World Social
Forum, the Pan-Amazon Social Forum will be held on November 25-29 in
Santarem, Pará, Brazil and five thousand people are expected to
participate. It has three general objectives: 1) Analyze and debate
the great Pan-Amazon issues; 2) Propose ways to overcome identified
Pan-Amazon severe problems, as well the current system in the long
term; 3) Promote development of local, international joint actions,
inside and outside the Pan-Amazon territory. Check the program. Read

The process of the Sao Paulo Social Forum is now open
Around 300 people were present at the opening of the Sao Paulo Social
Forum, on November 9th, at the University of Sao Paulo Faculty of
Architecture and Urbanism building, in Sao Paulo (Brazil).
Presentations of the Ilú Obá de Min Afro Block, with women dressed up
as African orixas playing drums, and the Zumbi dos Palmares Faculty
Choir, at the Faculty gardens, marked the event which is being built
by several organizations working together and that form the Forum's
Articulation Collective. The SPSF, that is expected to take place in
May 2011, will be held in two different moments: one decentralized
event in a weekend and one centralized event in the following weekend.
On the website, developed in freeware, there is already a space for
registration of activities and of exchange of information between
groups (http://forumsocialsp.org.br). The visual identity is still
provisional, but it will be chosen from several proposals sent by

Week against the Apartheid Wall Coverage
On November 09-16 hundreds of Palestinian and Foreign Activists from
several parts of the world went to the streets during the Week against
the Apartheid Wall. To mobilization it was added a non-stop 48-hour
marathon of media coverage on November 12th and 13th. You can access

A Virtual Press Room created to contribute to the 2010 World Social
Forum Process as one of the references for journalists / means of
communication to follow the events happening towards the 2011 WSF in
Dakar. In it you will find press kits, news, releases in several
languages, clipping, and also material as symbols and other
