Dear Comrades.

As agreed by the Southern Africa Social Forum Regional Organising Committee meeting in Lusaka in January 2011 to print postcards from the region which will be used as publicity material in the WSF Dakar event February 2011, Find herein attached a set of postcard designs to be printed at liberty.

I hope that we will have a healthy and collective presence through these postcards. The content was produced by people from the grassroots in Zambia's peri-urban areas, we thought that for a change, the arguments for change should spring from the visions of another possible world as observed by the people themselves and not the NGO representatives.

Note that we also agreed to carry a red card each for the general march as a symbol of solidarity to 'red-card' injustice everywhere we stand.

Dans le cadre du prochain Forum Social Mondial (FSM), l'Association des
Femmes Africaines pour la Recherche et le Développement (AFARD)
co-organise avec la Commission « Genre et Equité » du Forum Social
Sénégalais (FSS) et le Conseil Africain du Forum Social Mondial, le Forum
des Femmes Africaines et l'Assemblée des Femmes qui se tiendront

Ces manifestations, articulées autour de 12 axes thématiques (voir liste
ci-jointe), verront la participation d'organisations de femmes venant d'un
peu partout de l'Afrique, de chercheurs(ses), de militantes et de femmes à
la base pour provoquer des interactions entre ces différentes composantes
à partir d'exemples d'autonomisations économiques et sociales réussies de
femmes africaines mais également identifier les questions de recherches
sur lesquelles un programme consolidé peut être développé au niveau de la
recherche féministe en Afrique.

In the framework of the forthcoming World Social Forum (WSF), the
Association of African women for Research and Development is co-organizing
with the "Gender and Equity" Commission of the Senegalese Social Forum
(SSF) and the WSF African Secretariat, the Forum of African Women and the
Women's Assembly which will be held on 7th and 9th February 2011
respectively at UCAD II (Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar) from
8:00am..
The gathering which will focus on 12 themes (see attached list) will bring
together organizations from all over Africa, researchers, activists
grassroots women in order to bring bring interactions between those
different components, from successful models of economic and social
empowerment of African women but also to identify research issues on which
a consolidated program could be developed at the level of feminist
research in Africa.
