Just to say thanks for all your hard work and commitment.
You gave your time and energy to the process of making the WSF test video link a success. And in particular I wish to thank Norma Matinez and Kotutu Chimuka ,from Action Aid for insuring that the event was funded even at short notice when resources where not available.
Please keep up this great level of activism.

Kiss

Dear Members of the Press:
Press release and invitation to members of the press to:
The Launch of the World Social Forum in Zambia
The voice of Zambians will be heard in Senegal
The Zambia Social Forum (ZSF) is travelling to Dakar, Senegal, next week to bring the voice of the Zambian people to the world at the World Social Forum (WSF), where thousands of social movements from all over the world will meet to demand social justice and promote alternative answers to world economic and social problems.
To make sure that the issues Zambia brings to Dakar are issues which really come from the grassroots and concern poor and excluded communities in Zambia, we have invited communities in Lusaka facing exclusion and human rights violations to give us their voices. Those travelling to Dakar will be the messengers.
On Thursday 27th January, the ZSF, will bring community members from various parts of Lusaka and rural areas together, so they themselves can make and write the banners and messages, which ZSF will bring to the WSF and the streets of Dakar to show the world what the Zambian people feel is the ‘other’ world they want to see.
Global Skype Peoples Conference
Travel to Dakar for participation in the WSF is dependent on availability of resources. To insure greater participation among those that will not make the journey, the organizers of the World Social Forum have decided to use ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) as a tool for social mobilization by allowing virtual participation and linkages. On Thursday 27th January Zambian citizens facing challenges of land grabbing, HIV /AIDS and human rights violations will meet with people in the same situation from all over the world through this virtual internet space.
The World Social Forum returns to Africa
The WSF’s return to Africa is an expression of the international social movement’s powerful and active solidarity with the struggles and resistance engaged in by African social movements and peoples. The World Social Forum is extremely important for African peoples. For them, it will constitute an unprecedented opportunity for collective democratic expression and will enable them to move towards a way out of the political, institutional and economic deadlock that has been imposed on them by their ruling classes, by the great powers, and by the international financial institutions.
The Zambia Social forum consists of a sister-brotherhood of Zambian civil society organization fighting for social justice every day. We are travelling to Dakar to join social movements from the entire globe and together represent the voice of poor and excluded people in the streets of the world.
Launch of the World Social Forum in Zambia:
When: TODAY Thursday 27th January
Where: ZCSD offices at 2 Mwalule Road off Makishi Road, Northmead, Lusaka.
Time: 11-15 HRS
About the World Social Forum:
The World Social Forum is an opened space for non-governmental and non-partisan – individuals and organizations that stimulates the decentralized debate, reflection, experiences exchange and alliances among movements and organizations engaged in concrete actions towards a more democratic fair world.
.
Best Regards
Zambian Social Forum
