Hello Everyone,
Funny how I feel resentment now because I am told to ISOLATE and I used to do it voluntarily. No drinking this time though. And that worries me.
We could lose a lot of good sober people to relapse so keep an eye on your pals, stay in touch with members of your groups and be well!
And as we all know, ungrounded/unfounded FEAR is a boogeyman to us alcoholics. But fear of the Coronavirus is real. It is logical and real to be afraid of getting severely ill.
The difficult part for me, and I am assuming some of you, is that we are afraid of something we don’t understand and may be in panic mode wondering and worrying. Our Magical Magnifying minds may be blowing things out of proportion. We may be prone to pessimistic exaggeration. The unknown can create paralytic fear.
So, I am suggesting that any readers here who have or have had the virus, please share your experience strength and hope so we can all begin to understand, to grasp that this too shall pass.
I will post replies in a single email at the end of the day.
“Our very existence as ex-problem drinkers depends on our constant thought of others”.
Lets see if we can help each other through this next episode of “Living in the 21st Century”.
Love and service,
Tom
