Dear YJLPAC:

Please see below for important information regarding the YJLPAC allocation meeting where we will allocate our funds to pro-Israel Republican candidates for office.  Please note that Israeli Deputy Consul General Benjamin Krasna will be addressing us prior to the allocation meeting.  You will have the chance to ask him questions about the current situation in Israel - a very special, exclusive opportunity.

 

Allocation Meeting

The YJLPAC allocation meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th.

Israeli Deputy Consul General Benjamin Krasna will be addressing the YJLPAC and answering questions beginning at 7:30pm. 

Following the Deputy Consul General's address, we will begin the allocation meeting at approximately 8pm.

Location Strategic Legal, 500 5th Avenue, 25th Floor, Suite 2520.

Fully-paid members will be entitled to vote!  Remember, if you bought a ticket for the 10th Anniversary Celebration, you are a fully-paid member.

Benjamin Krasna

Benjamin Krasna joined the Foreign Ministry in 1995.
As Deputy Consul General in New York, Israel’s’ largest mission, he together with the Consul General, coordinates the political work of the Consulate in the tri-state area, developing relations with national, state and local officials. He also maintains regular contact with those following major foreign policy and strategic issues, including at think tanks and the elite academic institutions. In this capacity, he is involved also in furthering ties between the US and Israel on Homeland Security.
His responsibilities also include acting as liaison for the Foreign Ministry with the National and Local leadership of the Jewish Community.

Mr. Krasna’s professional background before coming to New York focused on the Middle East and on Europe.
He was posted for 18 months in the Jordan Division during the period of initial implementation of the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty.
He assumed his first overseas posting as Deputy Consul General in Istanbul, Turkey in 1997 serving there to 2000. His period of service there coincided with the tragic earthquakes in Turkey in 1999, during which he acted as Foreign Ministry liaison, coordinating Israeli search and rescue efforts in the field and at the IDF field hospitals, as well humanitarian assistance efforts in the aftermath of the disasters.
Mr. Krasna served as Spokesman of the Embassy of Israel in The Hague, Netherlands from 2000-2002.
Between 2002 and 2005 he served in the Western European Division of the Ministry in Jerusalem, specializing in the European Union, NATO and the OSCE, including two years of responsibility for the EU Political Affairs Desk covering bilateral issues with the EU and the EU involvement in the Middle East. In this capacity, he acted as political coordinator for the Israeli negotiating team, which concluded (December 2004), the new Joint Action Plan between the EU and Israel. Furthermore, he participated in many inter and intra-ministerial task forces on key strategic issues, including on Counterterror and on Democratization in the Middle East.
He received specialized professional training on European issues at the NATO School in Oberramergau, Germany, the European Institute for Public Administration and the Mediterranean Diplomatic Academy at the University of Malta.

Mr. Krasna was born in New York, raised in Forest Hills and is a graduate of the Yeshiva University High School. He holds a B.A. (1986) in Middle Eastern Studies from Rutgers University, an M.S. (1993) in Management from Boston and Ben-Gurion Universities and an M.A. (1994) in International Affairs from John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

He lived for six years on a kibbutz where he was co-manager of the dairy farm. Before joining the Foreign Service, he worked for a consulting firm specializing in agro-industrial projects.

Mr. Krasna lives in Modiin, Israel’s’ fastest growing city. There he has been on the managing board of an innovative public school, which includes children from varied Jewish backgrounds learning together as a way to instill greater Jewish unity and universal education in Judaism and Jewish values.
He is married and the proud father of three boys and is a lifelong fan of the Knicks and Yankees.
