Recently, Y&R bookclub members were asked to nominate the books they'd always wanted to read, but hadn't yet gotten around to.
Everyone's nominations have been collected, and the shortlist is:
• A Clockwork Orange (Anthony Burgess)
• A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole)
• Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Lewis Carroll)
• All the Pretty Horses (Cormac McCarthy)
• Animal Liberation (Peter Singer)
• Brave New World (Alduous Huxley)
• Dracula (Bram Stoker)
• Midnight's Children (Salman Rushdie)
• The Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath)
• The Corrections (Jonathan Franzen)
• The White Tiger (Aravind Adiga)
Personally, I've only read three of these books, and could probably vote for them all. Fantastic list.
So: which books would you like to read over December and January?
