Hey folks,

Recently, Y&R bookclub members were asked to nominate the books they'd always wanted to read, but hadn't yet gotten around to.

Everyone's nominations have been collected, and the shortlist is:

• A Clockwork Orange (Anthony Burgess)
• A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole)
• Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Lewis Carroll)
• All the Pretty Horses (Cormac McCarthy)
• Animal Liberation (Peter Singer)
• Brave New World (Alduous Huxley)
• Dracula (Bram Stoker)
• Midnight's Children (Salman Rushdie)
• The Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath)
• The Corrections (Jonathan Franzen)
• The White Tiger (Aravind Adiga)

Personally, I've only read three of these books, and could probably vote for them all. Fantastic list.

So: which books would you like to read over December and January?

Here's the survey:

Nominate as many titles as you like! And even if you never make it to bookclub (or even if you're overseas), we'd like your input too! We have almost 300 mailing list members now, and it'd be nice to see where everyone's tastes lie.

The two titles with most votes will be our picks, and will be announced in November's bookclub (Wed 25 Nov @ 6.30pm).

Happy voting.
— Ben.
