Happy new year, folks. I trust your holiday's been full of poolside/beachside reading and eating, as well as eating and reading.
We're midway through January now, so I hope you're all having fun with Sylvia Plath's romantic-comedy romp The Bell Jar, and charging through the slim, breezy novel that is Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children. I'm sure everyone's just having a blast with those two. There really is something there for everyone.
Again, here are the details for our next meeting:
WHEN: Wednesday 27 January @ 6.30pm (last Wednesday of every month)
WHERE: Avid Reader, 193 Boundary Street, West End
And for those speed-readers who want to charge ahead, here are the books we'll be reading over the next few months:
February
A Single Man (Christopher Isherwood)
March
Let the Great World Spin (Colum McCann)
April
Solar (Ian McEwan)
Enjoy! And hope to see you at January's bookclub.
— Ben.
P.S. On another note, I will be out of the country from the end of May onwards for a research project. Y&R Bookclub may be coming to an end (at least for now), or at least my tenure as overlord. Don't be sad. Help me see out this bookclub out in style.
