For those of you interested in theatre, various staff members from Avid Reader (both past and present), have teamed up to create this production:

ftfPosterLowRes_sml.jpgJoin the cast and creatives ofFlicking The Flint for a no holds barred open discussion, on the stage, right after the performance, Wednesday 17 March.

Quiz creator and performer, Kate Lee, about the process, being independent, adapting the work – whatever tickles your fancy. Grill composer Bernard Houston on creating a live soundscape for theatre. Come and find out what makes this performance tick.

Performance maker Kate Lee has teamed with acclaimed new literary voice, Anna Krien, to adapt and translate her shortstory Flicking The Flint for the stage. Fresh from Adelaide Fringe, this ensemble-created work delves into the depths of an institutionalised young man’s torrid past of abuse and addiction. Live electronic sound, beautiful lyricism and a confronting performance prickles with heat in a sensory landscape to tell this haunting story of a boy whose life is encircled by fire.
