Question:
...
Recently, one of my friends asked me to translate some thesis on
psychology. The thesis is made to be a PDF file. I am used to
translating things with Word. This leads to incommodiousness. I have
to switch the windows frequently. Do you have some ideas to solve this
problem?

I look forward to your reply. Thank you!

Solution:
Hi,

There are several ways to deal with this problem. The easiest way is
proved by Google (again!). If the pdf document is not prepared through
a scanner, simply send your pdf file to your own gmail account.
Receive your mail, and you can open the pdf file as html. This way,
you can easily copy and paste the content to Word.

If its scanned, then you should use Abby Finereader (there are other
programs that can do this job, but Abby Finereader is by far the most
convenient) to open the pdf file as a series of pictures and then
perform OCR to recognize the scanned pics into editable characters.
With Finereader you can easily send the recognized project to Word or
other word processors.

Abby Finereader is a proprietary program that you need to pay for.
However, you can find the download on lots of software sites. Good
luck!
